Good Deeds International has developed a scholarship foundation for High School Seniors in the poorest neighborhoods in the city of Atlanta. These High School students have to exhibit the willingness and desire to further their education, but fall short of the necessary grade point average to gain a full time academic or athletic scholarship.

Through researching Atlanta’s Public School Directory’s website, we have identified 5 High Schools in the poorest communities. Poor High Schools are determined by the percentage of students receiving free lunch programs. Following is the chart we used to identify the poorest High Schools. The High Schools in bold text are the ones that we identified.

The school Principles and Guidance Counselors will identify students who fall into these categories:

  • Maintained a minimum of a “C” average and maximum of a “B” average
  • Applied for College
  • Unlikely to receive financial assistance
  • Great character and interpersonal skills

Good Deeds International will interview each candidate and their families to choose which student from each High School who will be the recipient of our Scholarship Award presented at our Heritage Ball in February each year.

Good Deeds International will raise funds by contributing a minimum of $250.00 to each student. We will also encourage others within the Atlanta’s community to donate to our cause. Each student will be required to sell Souvenir Journal ads to go towards their scholarship fund. Parents and students will sign an agreement attesting to enrolling into their school of choice. Scholarship funds will be distributed once students have been accepted by an accredited university or college.

Good Deeds International is looking for sponsors to provide scholarship funds, purchase laptops and software for each of these 5 recipients.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
